What is metered, and why
Court records and judgments are bought from eCourtsIndia and Indian Kanoon per call. Rather than hide that in a headline price, Solon shows your usage in your account as you go — not for the first time on an invoice.
- Every plan includes an allowance that covers ordinary practice
- Beyond it, usage is billed at cost, with no margin
- Nothing stops working at a limit. A hearing tomorrow is not the moment to discover a cap
- On the Firm plan, bring your own keys and pay the providers directly

Questions about paying
Is there a free trial?
You can sign in and pull your whole docket from the court record without paying — that alone tells you whether Solon is worth it. Card details are only needed when you start drafting.
Can I change plan?
Any time. Upgrading is charged pro rata from that day. Downgrading applies at the next renewal, and nothing is deleted.
What if I stop paying?
We tell you, and give 14 days before suspending. Your data is not deleted, and export stays available even with an invoice outstanding. We will not hold a chamber’s papers hostage over a billing dispute.
GST?
Prices exclude GST, added at the applicable rate. Invoices carry your GSTIN.
Do you discount?
Yes — for advocates in their first three years of practice, and for legal aid and pro bono work. Write to us with a word about your practice.
One thing worth saying about the price. The Chamber plan is roughly what a junior costs for an afternoon. Solon does not replace them — an advocate still signs, and clause 2 of our terms explains why that will always be true. It changes what the afternoon is spent on.
