What is metered, and why
Court records and judgments are bought from eCourtsIndia and Indian Kanoon per call. Rather than hide that in a headline price, Solon shows your usage in your account as you go — not for the first time on an invoice.

Why a citation here can be relied on
In September 2026 the Supreme Court warned the bar about fabricated case law from AI tools, and put the responsibility on the advocate who files it. Solon is built so that it cannot be the source of one.
- No model here is permitted to name a case. Authorities come from retrieval over judgments Solon holds, each carrying the paragraph it was read from. Where Solon explains a position in its own words, a check in the code deletes any sentence that names a case before you ever see it.
- It tells you when an authority has turned. How later benches treated a judgment is computed from our own reading of them and stored — so you learn a case was distinguished before you stand up.
- It says what it does not have. Where the reports carry nothing on a point, Solon says so and gives you the position as the Act states it, naming nothing. A blank is more useful than an invention.

Questions about paying
Is there a free trial?
You can sign in and pull your whole docket from the court record without paying — that alone tells you whether Solon is worth it. Card details are only needed when you start drafting.
Can I change plan?
Any time. Upgrading is charged pro rata from that day. Downgrading applies at the next renewal, and nothing is deleted.
Do unused credits carry over?
No — the allowance is monthly and resets on the first. A top-up is the same: 100 credits for ₹200, used that month. We sell top-ups at what they cost us, because a chamber that has run out mid-month is a chamber that is using Solon properly.
What if I stop paying?
We tell you, and give 14 days before suspending. Your data is not deleted, and export stays available even with an invoice outstanding. We will not hold a chamber’s papers hostage over a billing dispute.
GST?
Prices exclude GST, added at the applicable rate. Invoices carry your GSTIN.
Do you discount?
Yes — for advocates in their first three years of practice, and for legal aid and pro bono work. Write to us with a word about your practice.
One thing worth saying about the price. Solon Pro is roughly what a junior costs for an afternoon. Solon does not replace them — an advocate still signs, and clause 2 of our terms explains why that will always be true. It changes what the afternoon is spent on.
